Is the available insurance really insurance?+
Strictly speaking, it's a Damage Protection plan — not a regulated insurance policy. But it works the same way for you: pay a small daily fee, get your liability capped at IDR 1,500,000 per claim, and have our team handle disputes with the shop. Roadside Assistance is included free on every rental.
What does Damage Protection cost?+
IDR 50,000 per day, per bike. You can add it during checkout. For a 7-day rental that's 350,000 IDR — usually less than one street-shop "scratch" invoice.
What happens if I have an accident?+
Report it to Vroam within 24 hours via WhatsApp, with photos. Our team contacts the shop, reviews the damage, and ensures you only pay up to the IDR 1,500,000 deductible (if you have Damage Protection) — never the inflated street-shop quote.
Why don't local shops offer this?+
Most Bali street rentals don't have the legal structure or volume to offer real damage coverage. They rely on cash deposits and held passports instead. Vroam works with vetted partner shops and adds the protection layer on top, paid out of our platform.
What's NOT covered?+
Intentional damage, riding without a valid license, theft without a police report, and personal injuries. For medical coverage, get travel insurance. You also need to send pickup photos within 1 hour of receiving the bike — without them, claims can't be processed.
